A Letter from Our Chairman
Good News --We're Back in Business
Fraternal greetings, fellow Yudansha-Kai members!
We have been too long out of touch. So let me tell you quickly that Yudansha-Kai is very much alive and kicking. It had only been in enforced hibernation.
Enforced for several reasons. Circumstances had deprived us of the means and facilities to maintain our Newsletters. Also, those active then in putting things together were busy business executives who, in the recent past, had been pressured by increasing corporate obligations; and especially by the demanding travel schedules the business calling today entails.
As we apologize without reservation for our inadvertent neglect, we hereby pledge to re-activate the Yudansha-Kai; and in the way Kancho Kanazawa is wishing us to do ; and to keep things in perpetual motion hereon.
Yudansha-Kai is confident this time of doing so. This is because we now have a full-time man (a retired and renowned international journalist, and a 7th Dan at that) to carry out Yudansha-Kai obligations under the direction of the Chairman, and the Treasurer-Secretary Andrew Paul, both of whom you all know well. For starters, the Yudansha-Kai Newsletter which in the past has been well-received by members in its paper format, will be resumed as from the end of this year. From then, it will be published every quarter; that is, four times a year -- in December, March, June and September.
The Newsletter is going electronic. Internet. But there will be a paper version too; for those who disdain computers, or have thrown away theirs. The paper version -- identical to the Internet one -- will be mailed to members as the Newsletter was done before. We therefore, immediately need:
Your E-mail address. And for those opting for the printed version, their postal address. In the meantime, we shall be relying on our old mailing list.
Next. Membership subscription. This will be at the same rate as before. Japanese Yen 3000, or US$30, a year. Payment in Japanese Yen or Hong Kong Dollars.
Never mind the outstanding accounts and dues. We are beginning afresh. Starting with year 2001. So mail your subscription NOW.
By cheque or transfer payable to:

2 -- The thoughts and reflections of Kancho Kanazawa.
3 -- The ongoing individual travel and instruction schedules of Mr Kanzawa and Mr Murakami.
4 -- Article on members' dojos and activities. On the basis on first come first to be published. Here we must stress that the success of the Newsletter will depend LARGELY on contributions from members. So all material will be most welcomed indeed. Just send us the raw stuff and we will knock them into priceless prose.
5 -- A Yudansha-Kai Karateka personality sketch.
6 -- News in brief of individual members and their dojo events and activities.
All material for each issue must reach us at least a month before publication. For instance, for the December-January issue, material must be sent this month November. Postal address as above. E-mail: contact@skif-yudansha-kai.com
Fax: (852) 2541-2585.
You will also be kept informed of the various SKIF products, publications, etc available; and how to go about obtaining them.
So, pass the word around, and rally the troops. Yudansha-Kai is back in action! And let's hear from you soonest.
Oss!
Philip C. Kwok,
Chairman.
