A newly created SOCIETY of SKIF-FELLOWS (SHOGO (稱號) in Japanese)

SKIF Headquarters, as instructed by Kancho Kanazawa, request that you recommend among your senior black-belt holders who have the following qualification and who want to become a Fellow of SKIF (i.e. to have the SHOGO or Title) in addition to their Dan Grade. SHOGO is the title-system set up by the Dai-Nippon Budoku-kai (greater Japan Budo Encouragement Federation established in 1895 in Kyoto). It is consist of three ranks, from Renshi to Kyoshi - Hanshi(Highest). The Society of SKIF-Fellows will consist of the three similar ranks.

SHOGO (Title)
QUALIFICATION
RENSHI (練 士) Over 2 years after the 5th Dan Registration and exceeding the age of 35 years old
KYOSHI (教 士) Over 5 years after Renshi registration, or 6th Dan and above and exceeding the age of 40 years old
HANSHI (範 士) Over 10 years after Kyoshi registration, or 7th Dan and above and exceeding the age of 55 years old

* Consult with Headquarters for the special case as regard to the qualification.

 

Procedure for Election to the SOCIETY of SKIF-FFELLOWS (SHOGO or Title)
This procedure now applies to ALL countries.

1. Credential Examination Date will be one month after receipt of all necessary documents including the examination and registration fees. (* Credential Examination will be hold only Kancho staying in Japan.)

2. Election Result will be announced two weeks after Credential Examination.

Applicant should have the qualification above together with the recommendations from

   

1. The President of the SKIF organization the applicant belongs
2. The Chief Instructor of the SKIF organization the applicant belongs and
3. Kancho

  B)

Applicant should be the member of SKIF-Yudansha-Kai.

 
C)
For the first-time applicants they need not be an existing Fellow.
     

4. Credential Examination and Registration Fee:

    (b) Kyoshi US$600
    (c) Hanshi US$800


5. Application

Download : Application Form or On-line application.

  i)

Fill in the attached form and send it by e-mail or through the internet.

ii)

Copy the Filled-in attached form and paste your photo and mail it to SKIF Tokyo together with the first two recommendations.

 

iii)

Remit the above amount (Examination fee and Registration Fee) to the under-mentioned Bank account or mail the Bank draft to SKIF Tokyo.

6. Others:

  i) Registration fee of applicants who fail the Credential Examination and are not elected will be refunded.
 

ii)

The applicants who pass the Credential Examination and are duly elected will be given the Certificate and Obi (Black Belt) embroidered with their names in Katekana with the SHOGO (Title) from Kancho.
